Question:
Esco Breakaway System. Can you tell me on our new enclosed trailer is the battery charging while it is plugged in with the 7 prong plug. Our other trailer had a box outside with lights to tell us it was charging. Not thrilled with Esco system but it is what it is. Thank you.

Most Break away systems will have an integrated charger but not all of them do. I've attached a wiring diagram of the difference so you can compare your system. The best way to tell is to check out the wiring and use a multimeter like # PT89ZR to test the voltage on the wire going to your trailer battery when the trailer is connected to your vehicle and the vehicle is running.
If you want the integrated charger and the light to test, I recommend the Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit w/ Built-In Charger - Side Load - 7" Wire # 20099 or the top load # 20400. I've attached some videos to help with these products.
