Do all of the trailer hitches for the 2018 Toyota Prius require a stabilizer strap when carrying non-supported loads like bike racks.

For your 2018 Toyota Prius we have the Draw Tite hitch part # 24966 which is a confirmed fit and does not require a stabilizer strap when carrying a bike rack unlike the Curt hitch part # C11473 which is also a fit for your 2018 Toyota Prius. Because of that I recommend the Draw Tite.

For a lightweight platform bike rack I really like the Saris Freedom Superclamp # SA4025F. This is a lightweight platform rack (which is normally an unheard of combo). That means it'll be easy to install and remove from your vehicle since it's light, but also it'll be very easy to load bikes on since it's a platform rack.

This rack also only touches bikes at the tire so it protects any damage to delicate frame materials or finishes.

For a more economically priced bike rack I recommend the Hollywood Racks bike rack part # HR200. Of the lower priced bike racks this one is the most sturdy and the most stable in the hitch that it is installed in. Take a look at the test course video I attached for this rack to see how stable it is.
