My wife got me a grill guard for Christmas 2017. When I went to put it on the Tahoe, saw it was a 4042, and not for my Tahoe. Figured I would have to sell it on Craigslist and get a new one. Then saw the website and figured couldnt hurt to ask. So, I have a 4042 for older Chevys, and need to put it on a 2012 Tahoe. Any suggestions? Thanks

It certainly doesn't hurt to ask and that was an awful nice gift from your wife but unfortunately the Aries Grille Guard # AA4042 would not be able to fit your 2012 Chevy Tahoe; like you said this guard fits older Chevy/GMCs up to the 1998 and 1999 model year.
Considering it is brand new you should not have any trouble selling that guard and putting on a new one. For your '12 Tahoe there is the Aries Grille Guard # AA4065 which is Black Powder Coated Steel.
