Measuring to Determine if Thule Motion XT Will Allow Rear Hatch to Open on 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

Question:
i have a 2018 cross trek and want to ensure this motion xl will fit and allow hatch opening? i need to be able to put 196cm skis so the xl is the size i need for that reason. thanks

There is going to be a measurement you need to take to determine if you will be able to open the rear hatch of your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek with the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629806 attached.
What you need to do is measure from the center of the front crossbar on your Crosstrek to the seam where your rear hatch opens; if this measurement is at least 55" then you would be able to use the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629806 and open the rear hatch.
This cargo box will fit your Subaru's crossbars if those bars are no more than 3-1/2" wide x 1-11/16" tall.
