For the Westin Molded Running boards with custom installation kit 6inch wide Black. Do I need the Gap strip ?

The Gap Strip for Westin Molded Running Boards part # 27-9901 is by no means a requirement for the Westin Molded Running Boards part # 27-0010-2145 on your 2017 GMC Sierra 2500. They are designed to cover mounting points for a sleek look. If you want a really clean and inconspicuous look then you may want to use them but if you are going for more function over looks then there will not be a need for them. Personally, I do not find them necessary in most instances as they are quite pricey for just a rubber strip used to cover a few mounting holes which are not easily seen anyhow.
