My Dad and I are trying to put on the grille guard for my 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 but it seems like the brackets are not long enough because the headlight protectors do not line up with the headlights when the guard is on the truck. Is there newer brackets that I could buy to fix this issue?

There are replacement brackets for your Westin Sportsman Grille Guard # 40-1175, they are Replacement Mounting Kit for Sportsman Grille Guard # 40-117PK.
The # 40-1175 Grille Guard is a fit for a 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 LD.
