Determining if Bulldog Lunette Ring has High Enough Capacity for USGI Trailer

Question:
Hello, I have an M101A2 3/4 ton USGI trailer that I am replacing the lunette with an adjustable lunette channel adapter. The adapter is a USGI part. The channel thickness is roughly .25inch thick. The adapter is not coming with a lunette. My question is what weight rating do I need for the lunette? Is 14k enough? I am thinking about the Bulldog powder coated or zinc coated lunette. My pintles are both Curt 10 ton one receiver, and one adjustable bolt on. Is the 14k enough for this setup? Thank you.

As you mentioned in your question, both the Bulldog Lunette Ring # BD1291010383 and the Zinc Model # BD1291020340 feature a towing capacity of 14,000 pounds. As long as the loaded weight of your USGI trailer does not exceed this number (which it certainly does not appear that it will), this lunette ring will work great. Based on the specs for the M101A2 trailer, this should give you plenty of safety margin as well.
I have attached a couple short video demonstrations on these products that you can also check out.
