Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2017 Chevy Cruze that Does not Require Stabilizer Strap Bike Rack

Published 04/27/2018

Question:

Why does etrailer recommend to use stabilizer straps with the Curt #C11458 however the Curt website says nothing about that?

Curt does recommend the stabilizer straps like part # 18050 with the use of a non-supported load like a bike rack on your 2017 Chevy Cruze with their hitch # C11458. They may not list it on the product page like we do (they probably should), but it's in the install instructions.

The other option you have that you may like better is the Draw Tite part # 24951 which is also a fit for your Cruze but does not have the stabilizer strap requirement. If it were me I wouldn't want to mess with a strap.

I really like the Saris Freedom Superclamp part # SA4025F. This is a lightweight platform rack (which is normally an unheard of combo). That means it'll be easy to install and remove from your vehicle since it's light, but also it'll be very easy to load bikes on since it's a platform rack.
