Question:
I have a 2014 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Short Bed with Deck Rails. 1. I was wondering what the lateral load strength of this rack is? For example, if I were to lean a load against the rack closest to the cab Like a headache rack. 2. Would I need any brackets to attach either a Thule or Yakima kayak mount J-Cradle and Saddle/rollers? I would be hauling two kayaks. Thank you,

I spoke with my contact at Rola who said that the Rola Haul-Your-Might T3 Truck Bed Ladder Rack # 59799 hasn't necessarily been tested for weight that is leaned up against it. At the most he did not recommend any more than 200 lbs.
The crossbars are standard aero bars so a J-style carrier like the Thule Hull-A-Port # TH834 would fit just fine without any additional brackets. The Hull-A-Port is for one kayak. For both of your kayaks you need 2 of them.
Attached are review videos and installation details for both products mentioned above.
