Question:

Conner, For some reason GM has rated this for for 1000 lbs max towing cap. From what I have read on the blog sites the trans has twice that capacity. Any way I am only towing a 11ft aluminum boat an 10 hp motor so with the trailer maybe 800 lbs max. Do you have a class 1 hitch?

We currently only have one trailer hitch receiver for your 1999 Buick LeSabre which is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 36216. This option will give you a Class II hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. I have attached an installation video on a similar 1997 Buick LeSabre for you as well.

If you can tell me what you will be using the hitch for I would be glad to offer some additional recommendations for you as well.

The only trailer hitch receiver for your 1999 Buick LeSabre is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 36216. This is a Class II trailer hitch receiver with a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. It is rated at 3,500 lbs gross trailer weight (GTW) and 300 lbs tongue weight (TW). However, as you mentioned the vehicle only has a 1,000 GTW rating therefore this will be your limiting factor but the Class II hitch will still work well for you. There would be no need for a Class I hitch in this situation. In order to tow your trailer you will also need a wiring harness and ball mount/hitch ball in addition to the trailer hitch. If you don't already have these items I recommend using part # 18252 for the wiring which will give you a 4-way trailer connector. If your boat trailer has a 5-way trailer connector as most due you will also need an adapter like part # 20036. For a ball mount I recommend part # 36061 along with the hitch ball part # 19257 for 1-7/8" or part # 19258 for 2". The combination of these parts will give you everything you need to hit the road with your boat and trailer. I have even attached install videos on the wiring harness and hitch for you to help you get started.
