What is Weight Capacity of BAKFlip G2 Hard Tonneau and Can it Be Taken Through Car Wash

Do you have to remove this cover if you go through a carwash? Is there a specified weight limit to the cover? looking at this for a 2017 RAM 1500 short bed thanks

The BAKFlip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK26207 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2017 Ram 1500 with a 5-1/2 foot bed as long as it does not have the Ram Boxes.

I spoke with my contact at BAK regarding this cover and he stated that it does have a weight capacity of 300 pounds when evenly distributed. He also says that while many people do it, they do not recommend taking the cover through a car wash. This has less to do with any water force and more to do with harmful chemicals that could damage the cover over time. If you were to go through a car wash, they recommend that the cover be removed first. Otherwise a better option will be a good old fashioned hand wash in the driveway with non abbrasive chemicals.

This is a really nice tonneau cover that will work great on your Ram. The tri-fold design allows for partial or full truck bed access and the included bolts and brackets make for an easy, no-drill installation.
