Question:

How much weight can the 1.25 inch handle converted to a 2 inch receiver. Can a spare tire carrier be use in this configuration weight tire and rim weight about 65lbs.

The Brophy Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter - 1-1/4" to 2" Hitch # HTAD or the Tow Ready # 80303 has an ability to adapt your hitch and yet will reduce the tongue weight of your hitch by 50%. With a 1-1/4 inch receiver, this weight can be as high as 350 lbs but in most cases is 200 lbs prior to that 50% reduction. That leaves you with 100lbs to carry your spare tire and its carrier like # C31006. In this case, that combination will work with the carrier weight of 31 lbs.
