Question:
I have a 10 ton tag trailer with split rims tires are 8.25-15. I want to switch to 17.5 wheels and was wondering what the modern tire size replacement would be. I didn’t want to go taller as the trailer is already very tall

Helpful Expert Reply:
The 8.25-15 tire would have an 8-1/4 inch width and a diameter around 28-1/2 inches. The closest tire size we have to that in a 17.5 is 215/75R17.5 like the part # TTWP15175 which has an outer diameter when inflated of 30.2 inches.
This would make your trailer sit .85 inch taller than it currently does.
