For your 2006 Infinity FX35, we have the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT. This is a confirmed fit that uses zero contact interface sensors to capture the signal in the factory wiring to transfer it to your trailer wiring connection. This harness will give you a 4-way flat connection.
If you want to add a 7-way, the only way to do so is to use the # ETBC7 kit along with this 4-way to hardwire those other functions. If you want to use a brake controller with this vehicle, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional # TK94FR which won't require any changes to your factory wiring but will require the 12V power line to your 7-way along with a ground connection.
