The strength comes from 1/4" thick aluminum slats which are rustproof and can support up to 400 lbs of evenly distributed weight. This is an easy, no-drill installation that secures your truck bed and only can only be opened if your tailgate is first opened. The 3-year warranty coupled with the USA made design makes this cover a best seller.
Since the X2 leaves the stake pockets open on your Sierra 1500 you will then be able to mount a ladder rack.
