Recommended Storage Cover for 1969 Forrester Travel Trailer Winter Storage in Cold, Wet, Snow & Wind

Published 11/13/2017

Question:

The Aqua shed for the horse trailer that u suggested for our 13 foot one is not rated for snow just rain so how is that one going to hold up in the snow of an iowa winter and temperatures 20 below zero.

For your 13 Foot 1969 Forrester Trailer and Iowa winter weather, I recommend the Adco Olefin HD RV Cover for Travel Trailers up to 18' - All Climate + Wind - Gray # AD37ZR. The material of this cover doesn't have to be thick, it just needs to be strong and prevent damage. This cover has an Olefin top layer to give you the very best protection. This cover has many tie down points to prevent billowing and has tire covers as well. This will be the best cover for your Northwest Iowa winter storage.

I forgot to ask if this fits trailers up to 18 feet long and ours is only 13 feet we are going to have too much to try to tuck and get snug, arent we.? How do we deal with all the extra 5 feet of extra material all the way around the four sizes that is a lot to tuck and get flat? Do they make just a 15 feet one for our 13 foot trailer.

For a travel trailer, that is the smallest we have, it is a little big. You may want to consider going with a similar cover for a horse trailer that will be more size appropriate. The Adco SFS AquaShed Cover for Bumper Pull Horse Trailer - 14' Long # 290-46003 will fit your trailer better and will still give you a nice cover that will protect from water and still give you the cinching straps. This will be a better fit for your trailer as it is made for trailers 12 feet 1 inch to 14 feet long.

The Adco SFS AquaShed Cover for Bumper Pull Horse Trailer - 14' Long # 290-46003 is a better fit for your trailer, but as you mentioned it is not designed for the colder weather and snow. For snow and 20 degree below zero temps, the Adco RV Cover w/ Tyre Gards for Travel Trailers - All-Climate + Wind - Tyvek - 15' Long # 290-34838 I first recommended is the better option in my opinion and only fits trailers up to 15 feet long. This will require more bundling around the cinching straps, but it is designed to accommodate that. This all-climate cover will be able to sustain the cold and snow of an Iowa winter and comes with a 3-year warranty.
