Fifth-Wheel Tailgate Recommendation for a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 3/4 Ton
Updated 06/06/2011 | Published 06/02/2011 >
Question:
I am looking for a 5th wheel tail gate for a Chevy 3/4ton. What do you recommend? What is the difference between Stromber 100 and 4,000 models? What is the best deal for the dollar? How is the tail gate assembled / attached to the truck? Is there much difference between the VGM-07-4000 and vgm 07-100? How do these two compare to the highland net tailgate? I am not too thrilled about drilling holes in my truck.

The Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate, item # VGM-07-4000, is the correct option for the 2007 Chevrolet And GMC New body style to the 2011 model year. This is the newest version, includes a lock and is the best deal for the dollar, if you are looking for a rigid tail gate. Drilling is not required for installation of this tailgate.
If you are looking for a more economical solution, I would recommend the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate, item # VGM-07-100, which is all steel and has a more flow through design. No drilling is required for installation of this tailgate.
