Question:

Can I tow a small 4x8 wooden trailer with a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta? Which hitch would I need? Does it come with the ball and chain, etc? Thanks in advance!

We do have light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I hitches for the 2017 Volkswagen Jetta 4-door sedan that are shown on the linked page. Both share the same towing capacity of 2000-lbs. Since there are four different versions of the 2017 VW Jetta (the S, SE, SEL and GLI) to confirm your model's towing capacity you need to check your printed manual. Currently VW's website does not have online manual access due to them redesigning their application.

I suggest the Curt Class I hitch # C11474 over the Draw-Tite # 24926 since it costs less. The hitch comes with all the required mounting hardware as well as a pin and clip to secure the matching ball mount # C45520. You can use 1-7/8-inch hitch ball # C40001 or 2-inch ball # C40018, depending on what size the trailer's coupler requires. If the trailer has lights you'll also need a 4-pole wiring harness kit # 118572
.

For safety chains you can use two of part # 2118-348-04 or one of the other items shown on the linked page.
