I am afraid the clips will not stay secure and/or rip off the plastic of the vans hatch where the clip s.

As long as you install them properly the hooks # RL100605 will not slip off if you use them on the Rightline cargo box # RL100B90 with your 2016 Honda Odyssey.
We haven't had any customers come back and have issues with these clips at all.
