The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75189 is confirmed to fit your 1997 Chevrolet Express Van.
Since it sounds like you don't have the factory tow package you will want to go with the Curt T-Connector # C55335 for wiring. If your Van happened to have the factory tow package then you will use part # 118240 instead. If you just need the 4-Pole connector then I recommend also installing the Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat # 18144 along with the No-Drill Bracket # C57202 for a quick and easy installation onto the hitch receiver.
You will also need a ball mount if you do not already have one. I am attaching some links to a help article on choosing the correct ball mount as well as our selection of ball mounts for you to look through. Using an adjustable ball mount, like part # FA42-00-2600 will make the towing setup easier and can be useful if you plan on alternating towing trailers.
I have attached some videos for you to review as well.
