For the Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 49" x 40" x 6" - 150 lbs, Item # TH859XT on your 2016 Ford Fusion, the crossbars need to be within certain spread distance on center to fit properly.
There is not a system that is a perfect fit, however the use of a round bar system will give you the wiggle room you need to make it compatible.
