How to Transport Two 113-Lb Predator Kayaks on 2014 Hyundai Tucson

What products can I use to support 2 two - Old Town Predator PDLs on my Hyundai Tuscon 2014? They weigh 113 Pounds EACH and are 132 inches long.

Your extremely nice pedal-powered Predator fishing kayaks (can you smell my envy?) are much too heavy at 113-lbs each for any sort of roof rack option on your 2014 Hyundai Tucson. Their 11-foot length also makes a trailer option such as the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08107 or # Y08106 your best bet.

Both trailers come complete with either 78-inch or 66-inch-long round crossbars to which you can secure the kayaks. The bar spacing and open trailer frame allow space for the kayak's propeller shaft and rudder. These trailers' 250-lb capacity works for your two kayaks, but if you want to give yourself a bit more safety margin you can always upgrade the shocks with kit # Y08110 to give you a total of 350-lbs carrying capacity. This would allow you to attach storage bags or other cargo carrying items that can hold your fishing gear. Please refer to the linked videos for more on the Yakima trailers.

None of the Yakima kayak carriers that would mount to the trailer's bar can handle the 113-lb weight of these particular boats so you would need to select separate cargo control straps to secure the kayaks to the rack's bars. Cam buckle straps such as # 05605 or # IMF12637 will give you a secure connection to the trailer.
