Recommended Replacement 2,000 Pound Trailer Jack for Sweetwater Boat Trailer
Updated 04/17/2017 | Published 04/14/2017 >
Question:
I have a 1998 Malibu ski boat on a Sweetwater trailer. I want to replace the trailer jack. The current jack is a 1000 lb Bull Dog that has a welded bracket with snap ring mounted jack. Are the weld brackets standard? I dont want to weld a new bracket. Do you have a replacement that will mount on existing weld bracket? Would like to have the heaviest style jack that would fit on the bracket. Maybe a 2000 lb?

The weld brackets do sometimes differ between trailer jack models, so the best way to ensure a replacement jack will mount onto the existing bracket on your Sweetwater Trailer, is to simply measure the dimensions of the weld-on bracket.
I recommend looking at the Bulldog Round, Snap-Ring Swivel Jack # BD151109. This jack has a 10 inch lift with a 2,000 pound lift capacity. I went out to the warehouse to take some measurements of the mounting bracket on this trailer jack. The bracket itself is 5 x 4-1/2 inches The hole spacing of the bracket, on center, it is right at 3 inches apart. The plunger pin on this jack has a diameter of 1/2 inch and the center hole diameter is right around 2-1/8 inches. This jack will be a great upgrade over the 1,000 Bulldog Jack you are currently using. If for some reason the mounting bracket does not match up with yours, this jack does come with a new weld-on bracket that you can use. I will also be happy to give you dimensions of another product's mounting bracket if this product will not work.
I have also attached a link that will take you to our available side-mount, 2,000 pound trailer jacks for you to look through.
