Question:
Good morning, I have a 2003 F350 and the trailer wiring harness is corroded at the rear of the truck. I am looking for a replacement but the closest Ive found is the Curt t-connector C55243. It says it fits 1999-2001, and I hear the wiring for the connector changed slightly from 01-02. I have been unable to find a connector of that type for my year. I need the harness that has the square connector from the driver side frame rail all the way down to a new 7-way. Do you know of a part that would fit, or should I get the older part and just re-wire it?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The 7-way connector I recommend for your 2003 F-350 is part # 40167. Since there are no standard connectors available you can use this harness and just secure the excess wire under the truck out of the way.
Another option is to use part # 20024. This is a hardwire installation so you would need to cut the square connector off of your truck wiring along the frame rail and use this harness.
For both of these you will need to install the harness using the included brackets as they do not fit the hole that has the trailer connector in it presently.
