Question:
I installed a new tralier light kit on my trailer, i own a 2007 Chrysler PT crusier and on my car it has a 5 way flat harness and my trailer has a 4 flat so I have to put a 5 wire to 4flat converter and when I did that everything worked but my brake lights, when I step on the brakes both my brakes on my car and trailer flash a few times then turn off, do you know what I need to do to fix this?

Since the brake lights on both your trailer and Chrysler PT Cruiser seem to get power when you press on the brake, just to quickly lose it, there may be an issue with the ground wire connection on your tail lights. The connections from your vehicle are probably good, which is why the brake lights are able to initially turn on. But a bad ground connection will prevent the lights from holding the provided power long enough to function properly.
I recommend relocating the tail light grounds to a nearby clean, rust free area on the frame of your trailer. You can also try to redirect all of the ground wires to the same, main ground portion on the tongue of your trailer frame for the most secure and clean connection.
If this does not solve the problem, let me know and I will try to research further.
