Excessive Wind Noise After Installing Rola Roof Rack On 2016 Toyota Rav4
Published 01/24/2017 >
Question:
I just received a set of ROLA roof rack cross bars and installed them on my daughters 2016 Rav4 . She drove with them on and is complaining about the terrible noise from them. One thing that I did notice with the install was that the rails on the vehicle are wider toward the front than the rear. Also I did not install the undercovers yet. Thanks.

Even Aero Bar Crossbars on your 2016 Toyota Rav4 will create some wind noise. All roof racks will have some drag and noise and the style will be a determining factor. On your Rola crossbars, installing the rubber undercovers will drastically help with this noise as right now that channel is creating drag and excess noise. I highly recommend installing those undercovers as soon as possible.
If you want to further reduce wind noise, I recommend installing a fairing. The Rhino-Rack Fairing for Roof Racks - 44" Long # RRRF3 will fit nicely and will help reduce that wind noise and drag.
