Question:
I recently purchased a hitch for my 2005 escape. That car died within a week! My question is: will the hitch I previously purchased fit a 2011 misssm rogue? Thanks

Sometimes a hitch from one vehicle will also fit another, but usually this occurs only with related vehicles, say a GMC and a Chevrolet pickup that can take the same hitch. In the case of your old 2005 Ford Escape and your current 2011 Nissan Rogue I am sorry to report that no hitch fits are common to both vehicles. The two linked pages display the hitches made for each of the two vehicles.
For your Rogue I recommend a 2-inch Class III type hitch since these offer generally higher capacity than the smaller Class II type and because they are compatible with more of the hitch-mount accessory items available, such as bike racks and cargo carriers. The Draw-Tite # 75902 is a good choice. It features no-drill installation and includes all the required mounting hardware. You can see the whole installation process in the linked video.
If you choose to sell your old hitch do note that the original hardware used to install it cannot be used a second time. Hitch hardware is single-use-only so the new owner will need to order a replacement hardware kit # RHK in order to install the hitch properly. On the page for RHK simply enter the hitch part number (from its safety sticker) and the hitch brand.
