Higher Capacity Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2014 Chevy Express 3500
Updated 12/13/2016 | Published 12/12/2016 >
Question:
Need a hitch for my 2014 Chevrolet Express 3500. Towing capacity is 9,300, so a Class III/10,000 hitch should be adequate ie Curt 14090 or DrawTite 41521. My question is does any brand hitch place the ball mount further out/away from the bumper? I want a longer hitch to prevent the rear van doors from hitting the power tongue jack on my travel trailer.

The hitch you would want for your 2014 Chevy Express 3500 Van is the Draw Tite part # 41946 which is a confirmed fit and has a 10,000 lb total trailer weight capacity. If you check out the picture I attached you can see that the hitch opening is flush with the rear bumper which is about as far out as you would want it to be. Your shins will thank you for not trying to use a longer one.
I attached an install video for you to check out as well.
