On your 2011 Infiniti FX35 the Kat's heater # KH11412 installs in the frost plug which can be in one of two places on the motor. It will either be on the driver's side, rear part of the motor (rear meaning closest to windshield) or on the passengers side front part of the motor.
There could be some things in the way that would make it difficult to install at home. You would have to go underneath and look. A shop with lifts would be able to do it quickly and it would not take all that long to install so if you have reservations about the installation or just can't get to it easily a professional install would be the way to go.
The instructions are basically generic and not vehicle specific at all so they would not help with locating the front plug.
