How do i find the wires? The video provided on YouTube is nothing like my truck.

The wires you need to install the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock, part # PAL8100 can be found behind the driver side kick panel on yoru 1998 Dakota.
They will be Orange/Black for the lock feature and Blue for the unlock feature.
