Question:
I have a 1011-1 baseplate that I want to use on a 2002 Chevy tracker 4 door This vehicle seems to require a 1012-1 on most application charts. Will the 1011-1 fit my 02 Tracker as it is ? or What will I need to modify to make it fit ? I have access to metal shop services

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, part # 1012-1 that is designed to fit your 2002 Tracker has a completely different design versus the # 1011-1 baseplates.
The # 1011-1 is designed to fit 1999 and 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara only and has different mounting locations. Any modification to baseplates is not recommended because it can be dangerous.
I have attached the installation instructions for both baseplate kits you can check out for comparison.
