What Fit Kit is Needed to Install Thule AeroBlade Edge 7602 Roof Rack on 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Updated 07/24/2020 | Published 09/18/2016

Question:

First of all, I should have started my search and purchase with etrailer. But with that being said, I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with factory rails silver metal on the roof. I purchased two Thule AeroBlade Edge #7602 racks from another website. Didnt realize there would be additional kits to purchase. So i found your website, did research by the way, your website had more helpful info than any other websites and then I purchased Thule Kit THKIT3142 from you. Is that correct? Do I need to purchase anything else to put these racks on my Jeep? Please advise. thanks

Yes you are correct. To install the Thule Aeroblade Edge roof rack part # TH7602-TH7602 all you need is the correct fit kit part # THKIT3142 which is designed for the version of your vehicle that has the metal sections of your raised roof rails.

Hello. I purchased the Thule AeroBlade Edge 7602 roof rack system and installed it on my 2014 Grand Cherokee. Fits and looks great. However I am trying to mount a 34 inch wide canoe and it appears the Portage canoe support attachments will not fit as the rail of the carrier is only 34 inches wide. Is it possible to reverse the Portage attachments so they fit on the rail and support the gunnel of the canoe from the inside rather than the outside?

As long as you're still able to attach the tie-down straps for the canoes, I don't see an issue with reversing the brackets like that.
