The base plates I recommend for your 2014 Mini Countryman base is part # RM-521881-4. When installed, these base plates look practically invisible when the arms are removed.
When flat-towing you need five items. You need base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, lights for the towed vehicle and a supplemental brake system.
The tow bar I recommend is part # e64ZR. This tow bar comes with the safety cables included.
For lighting I recommend part # RM-152. This lets you use the tail lights on your Mini. You will also need to use the # RM-146-7 to connect the lighting to your towing vehicle.
The supplemental brake system I recommend for your Mini is part # SM99251.
