If you need some extra clearance, we do carry several 5th wheel to gooseneck trailer hitch adapters. I recommend the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter with 8 Inch Offset, # AM3139. This adapter will give you 8 inches more clearance than a standard straight 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter. This unit is also height adjustable from 11-3/4 inches to 14-3/4 inches, and it has a gross trailer weight capacity of 24,000 pounds and vertical pin weight capacity of 6,00 pounds.
Reese, manufacturer of the Sidewinder and 5th Airborne Sidewinder like # RP61412, strongly advises against the use of a Sidewinder with any 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter, so I would not recommend it. The stresses would be too great for safe operation.
