Replacing Transmission Cooler on 1996 Dodge Ram, Should Rubber Lines be Replaced as Well

Question:

I have a 96 Dodge 3/4 ton, Cummins 5.9 and have a very small leak in the transmission cooler. Please recommend a part and if you think all the hoses should be replaced new at the same time. Replacement looks pretty sraight forward, but looking for advise on what to avoid. thanks,

Now would be a good time to go ahead and replace the lines of your transmission cooler if you are replacing the cooler. May as well do it while you are there since the rubber lines aren't expensive. It's pretty rare that the rubber lines fail, but I did have one develop a leak on my car from wearing on a sharp corner for an extended period of time.

The part # D13504 would be an excellent choice for a cooler as this is a larger cooler that would efficiently cool the fluid of your truck. This cooler is 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep and comes with a small section of line but for a 25 foot long section you would want the part # D13007. This would be all you would need to then also replace the rubber lines of your current transmission cooler setup.
