Question:
Hi, Can I flat tow a 1997 Isuzu Trooper Automatic? If so, what would I need to tow this vehicle with my RV? Thanks.

Flat towing a vehicle requires a few components including a tow bar, safety cables, base plates, a wiring/lighting solution and a braking system for the toad. Often a wiring extension and high/low hitch adapter are also needed. The linked article covers each of these items in detail.
We do offer a base plate for your Trooper, part # 607-16 from Roadmaster. With this I suggest the Tow Ready Adjustable Tow Bar # 63180. Note the bar speed rating is 45-mph and that the Trooper cannot weigh more than 5000-lbs. For safety chains you can use part # 40604. For a lighting solution we offer magnetic light kits that avoid the need to cut into the vehicle's wiring, such as # TL21RK from Optronics. For a braking system use the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251.
For a high/low hitch adapter to keep the tow bar level you can refer to the linked page.
I was not able to access an online edition of the owner's manual for the 1997 Isuzu Trooper Automatic so I suggest you check yours. Look in the index under the heading Recreational Towing to see if Isuzu recommends the automatic version of the 1997 Trooper for flat towing and what preparation steps, if any, are required to ready it for this type of transport.
