Dissimilar metals like brass and aluminum will eventually corrode if left together for extended periods of time. These two metals typically take years for the aluminum to corrode. The plumbers tape that comes with the # CAM35953 is designed to protect the metals from contacting each other. If you use enough of the tape you wouldn't have any contact and would be just fine.
