Where Does a Trailer Wiring Harness Install on a 2001 Isuzu Tropper

Question:
Do I have to remove the wheel well or tail light to find the plug in?

Expert Reply:
Trailer wiring harness # C55339 installs in a factory wiring harness located on the driver's side of the back of your 2001 Isuzu Trooper. The factory harness should be attached to a grommet between the rear wheel well and the bumper on the exterior of the vehicle. It appears that it also could be near or above an exhaust pipe.
Since the vehicle is over 15 years old it is possible that the location is covered with road grime and/or is otherwise difficult to see. It may be easier to find if the vehicle was jacked up and the tire removed but it isn't required.
