Question:

I bought a wiring kit for my 2014 Chevy Equinox to use with the trailer hitch I installed. I now need to wire it for dinghy towing and the kit shown allows for plug and play TM780072. Will that work since I have already installed a plug and play hitch wiring.

Although your existing 4-pole can't be used for flat towing the vehicle, you can indeed still add a plug and play wiring harness for flat towing. The trailer wiring harness would connect inline between the vehicle's wiring harness and the taillight assembly. The flat towing harness would daisy chain into that connection.

I'd recommend using the Hopkins # HM56108. Since removing a fuse is necessary to prevent the vehicle's battery from being drained when being towed, you can use a fuse bypass # RM76511 which would allow you to simply flip a switch instead of needing to remove the fuse each time you flat tow.
