Question:
Just bought a New 2009 Kia Borrego SUV with 7500# towing capacity. My salesman says it is Plug and Play for towing. What does that mean and how does that effect the installation of the P3?

Expert Reply:
If your 2009 Kia Borrego has the factory tow package with a 7-Way trailer connector at the rear of the vehicle, it will be a simple plug and play installation. You will only need the P-3, item # 90195, brake controller and the Brake Controller Wiring Adapter for Kia Borrego, item # 3032-P to install the brake controller on your vehicle.
If your Borrego does not have the factory towing package you will need to use the Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the 2009 Kia Borrego, item # 56104, along with a brake controller installation kit, item # ETBC7, to install the P-3 brake controller.
We have detailed instructions on our brake controller installation from scratch page (see link).
The # ETBC7 kit will have all of the wiring and hardware needed to install a brake controller on your vehicle.
