Question:
I have a single axle 5 X 8 utility trailer with a 3,500, 2.25inch diameter axle. I need to relocate my axle forward a bit since I added some length and weight to the trailer front end. I need to replace my existing 1.75inch wide leaf springs but I can re-use my existing U-bolts, plates and nuts. I will however need new pair of leaf springs, hangers, end bolts, shackle straps, shackle bolts and lock nuts. Which leaf spring would your recommend? Can you work me up a material list and price for your spring recommendation and the new components listed above? Thank you.

For double eye leaf springs, I recommend going with the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # SP210275. This spring is 25-1/8 inches long x 1-3/4 inches wide and designed for 3,500 pound axles. These springs are a common length for 3,500 pound trailers. One spring is included with the part number, so you will want to order 2 of the same spring in order to replace both sides.
A suspension kit will provide you with new hangers, shackle bolts, shackle straps, and locknuts needed for your new leaf springs. I recommend using either the # APS4 or # APS2 suspension kit. The # APS2 includes 1-1/2 inch front hangers and 1-1/4 inch rear hangers. The # APS4 has 3-1/4 inch front hangers and 1-1/2 inch rear hanger, and this kit will likely allow your trailer to ride approximately 1-1/2 inches higher than the # APS2.
Prices for the leaf springs and suspension kits are listed on their product pages, and in the product information located below my answer.
