Snowplow for a 2000 Jeep Wrangler with Front Receiver Hitch in Bumper
Updated 11/30/2015 | Published 11/27/2015 >
Question:
I have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler with a 6inch lift. Im looking for any plow kits that would be compatible with that. Also, does the type of bumper I have on the jeep matter? Its not stock and it does have a 2inch class 3 tow hitch receiver on it but ive never installed a plow before and dont want to run into any surprises. See attached photo to see what ive got to work with. I look forward to hearing your suggestions.

The first thing you will want to do is check to make sure that you can use a snow plow with the front mount bumper hitch on your 2000 Jeep Wrangler. The hitch will also need to be rated for the weight of the plow itself.
Snowbear plow # SB324-080 is a great option. It comes with its own winch to raise and lower the blade. The blade is 82 inches wide and 19 inches tall and there is no restriction on hitch receiver height. This plow weighs 315 pounds. The large holes in the A-frame winch arms should be 9 to 10 inches from the ground. And according to Snowbear the hitch height should be around 13 inches from the ground to the top of the receiver opening.
