Boat Trailer Leaf Spring Recommendation for a 5,000 lb Boat and Old Springs are 26 inches

Question:
Hello, this is a follow up question to the answer that Jameson gave me on the original question: I have already ordered the 6 leaf, 26 in spring for a 4500 lb axle. Now Im wondering if I should send them back? I should have asked the question before ordering, but obviously failed to do that. What will happen if I put those springs I ordered on? Will the suspension be weaker?

Priority one for picking out a leaf spring is matching the weight capacity of it with the trailer's weight capacity. Spring hangers can be moved if needed, but going with too light of a spring would be a bad move.
Since springs flatten out over time you would want a spring that is slightly under your 26 inch length that you measured like the part # e54SR that is 25-1/8 inches long and has a 3,500 lb axle capacity. Based on the dimension and weight of your boat trailer this spring should work well for you.
