Published 08/25/2015 >
Question:
I have a Reese fifth wheel hitch part number 30026. can you tell me if I can use this on a slider hitch? Will my bed rails stay where they are? And with the hitch slid forward will hit be farther ahead the it is now. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks

I spoke to my contact at Reese and he informed me that the hitch you have is pretty old Reese 14k Classic fifth wheel hitch. It's old enough that they do not know for certain if you could convert it to a slider hitch. He recommended that you just go with a new slider hitch like the part # RP30075.
This hitch will install on the rails you have installed in the bed of your truck and will slide back when you activate it so that you can make tight turns.
When the hitch is slid forward in the "tow" position it will be exactly where you current hitch will be. When slid back it will move back 11 inches.
