The Draw-Tite 36276 (no longer available) hitch you asked about is for the 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It will not fit your 2001 Jeep Cherokee Classic.
Instead, you will want to use the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e97AR which has a 2" hitch receiver and matte black finish.
For a complete towing kit, you can add the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118354 and the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.
