My jeep Cherokee is 5ft wide ,my camper is 8 ft. wide , Will the slide on mirror be wide enough?

Using any extended towing mirror such as # CTM3200 is going to give you greater visibility than the factory side mirrors on your 1996 Jeep Cherokee. It all depends on the length of the trailer and how much you want to see.
Mirrors can't go out to far away from the vehicle because then you will have clearance issues.
