Does a 2012 Jeep Liberty have Enough Towing Capacity for a Motorcycle Trailer

Question:

Hello! I have a 2012 jeep liberty and had a few questions. I recently purchased a 2015 can am commander which weighs 1300 pounds. I am about to purchase a 5x10 utility trailer which weighs 650 pounds. My jeep is rated to tow 5000 pounds. I was wondering if i would need to replace my hitch with something to help with weight distribution? You guys are the experts so hopefully you can help me out. Thank you

As long as both the hitch you have installed on your 2012 Jeep Liberty and the vehicle itself has the capacity to tow the weight of your trailer and the Can Am Commander you would be good to go as-is.

Based on what you listed the weight of your trailer and Commander would be 1,950 lbs combined which would be way less than the 5,000 lb rating you said your Jeep has. As long as your hitch has a high enough capacity you would be good to go.
