Question:

Hello, Im looking for a combination of products. I have a 2014 Nissan Frontier 2 crew cab short bed no bed track system. I would like to put both a rack and cover on the bed. The rack would be for carrying kayaks and paddle board, not anything like construction lumber. I saw the Dee Zee Invis-a-Rack System and Truxedo Lo Pro QT Cover and liked both but Im not sure what will work with my truck. Your feedback is appreciated.

We have just what you are looking for.

Since you are wanting to use two separate items that attach to the truck bed on your 2014 Frontier with the 5 ft bed, you will want to make sure they do not interfere with each other when installed. I called my contact at TruXedo about your truck and they do not make a tonneau cover system that will work with a ladder rack, including the DeeZee Invis-A-Rack you mentioned, but we do have a solution for you.

I recommend the Thule Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack, part # TH43001XT-603. This attaches to the stake pockets on your truck bed rails and has some great features. This features a fixed height of 25-3/16 inches including the rails and has a weight capacity of 1,250 lbs. This requires no drilling for installation. The rack adjusts along the length of the truck bed and can be tightened in place, or removed when not in use. I have attached a product review video for this ladder rack you can check out.

The tonneau cover I recommend for your Frontier is the Access Vanish Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover, part # 834532007943. This attaches to the inside of the truck bed rail so it will not interfere with the ladder rack rails. This has a soft cover which can be rolled up in seconds and stores behind the cab of the truck by using the flexible straps.
