Question:
I just picked up a 2004 F-150 which I want to use to haul my travel trailer. It is a 4.6L V8 engine mustang engine. It does have a plug for the brake controller under the dash. Ive been doing research here, and I believe that I would need parts 13357 class 3 trailer hitch, 901905-3035-p tekonsha brake controller with wiring and plug, and 118247 7 way plug wiring kit with fuses. I dont fully understand the wiring in the back. It seems that I have one big plug under the back plugged into the wiring for the 4-way plug, but 118247 has two plugs. I cant visualize how this works. Is there another plug back there that I did not see....or how would this work? Sorry. I did not take a picture.

Curt Class III trailer hitch # 13357 is a great choice for your 2004 F-150. This hitch requires no drilling and bolts on using the included hardware.
The wiring harness # 118247 that you referenced is intended for trucks that have an OEM 4-pole flat trailer connector installed. It is designed to "T" into that wiring to give you a 7-way socket while keeping the 4-pole in place and active. The side of the harness with the two connectors plugs inline with the existing connectors and the round U.S. Car connector on the other end plugs into the supplied 7-way socket. Please refer to the linked video. You can use mounting bracket # PK12711U for the 7-way.
The Prodigy P3 # 90195 is an excellent choice because of its easy set-up and user-friendly features. You'll use the quick-connect harness # 3035-P to connect it to the under-dash port as shown in the linked video.
