Published 03/26/2015 >
Question:
I need your advice on weight distribution product. I have F350 with a 10foot in box camper - I have a 24 or 30 inch stinger ext for my receiver hitch. I am pulling a 24foot boat weight 6 k dry and no added gear. The boat trailer has surge brakes. A buddy of mine was telling how much better his trailer tows with weight distribution product so I am looking into it. Thanks I can send pics if needed

If you have an extension like the Titan Extension part # RP45292 that is rated for weight distribution we can help. But you will first want to determine if the extension can be used with a weight distribution system.
Since most boat trailer use pole tongues you would also need a pole tongue adapter like part # RP58393.
The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
Once you know your tongue weight check out the link I attached that will take you to a page that has all of the WD systems we carry that are confirmed to work with surge brakes.
